Events

The natural resources exploration and production industry is not new to Pennsylvania or Wayne County.  However, many of us were unfamiliar with the geology, industry methods and regulations when the prospect of the natural gas industry emerged in this portion of the State.  Luckily there is a tremendous amount of information available on these and other relevant topics.

A core function of the Wayne County Oil and Gas Task Force is to provide an educational forum on the issues that are associated with the development of this industry here in Wayne County.  As such, the Task Force continues to either host or promote educational events that can educate Wayne County’s residents about this industry.  To view more information on the events listed below, click on the blue link for that specific educational event.  To view published meeting summaries and other information from these hosted public meetings go to the ‘Event Materials’ page by clicking here.

Penn State Cooperative Extension

The Penn State Cooperative Extension is a valuable source of information in regard to the natural gas industry.  The Cooperative Extension has a Marcellus Education Team of more than 40 county-based educators and faculty that research and provide information on a range of issues associated with the natural gas industry.  The Penn State Cooperative Extension educators frequently host or participate in educational events throughout the areas of the State where gas industry activity is either occurring or likely to occur.  To view a listing of Penn State Cooperative Extension “Events & Webinars”, click here.

As mentioned above, the Penn State Cooperative Extension educators host ‘webinars’.  A webinar is a live broadcast of an educational forum over the internet.  The Extension typically presents one webinar every month on a topic associated with the natural gas industry.  Also, past educational webinars and the documents associated with the webinars are available for the public to view or listen to at any time.  To view the upcoming live webinar schedule, register for upcoming webinars or view information on past webinars, click here.
