The Wayne County, Pennsylvania Oil & Gas Task Force conducts work sessions on a regular basis to gather and coordinate the dissemination of information pertaining to the oil and gas industry.  Summaries of these work sessions are listed below.

Public Utilities Commission (PUC) Releases Tentative Implementation Order

The Public Utilities Commission (PUC), in response to the new responsibilities outlined in Act 13, has released a Tentative Implementation Order.  This order provides the views on the provisions of Act 13 and how they will be implemented by the PUC.  To view a copy of the Tentative Implementation Order with draft attachments in PDF format, click here.


 

National Park Service Hydraulic Fracturing Poster

The National Park Service released an informational poster titled “The Hydraulic Fracturing Process (HF): Real Concerns or Misdirected Focus Concerning Threats To Drinking Water Supplies (DWS)”  To view the document, click here.


 

Rural Drinking Water Study Released

The Center for Rural Pennsylvania released the results of a study on “The Impact of Marcellus Gas Drilling on Rural Drinking Water Supplies”.  The Center for Rural Pennsylvania is a bipartisan, bicameral legislative agency that serves as a resource for rural policy within the Pennsylvania General Assembly.  To view the released study, click the link below.

The Bureau of Oil & Gas Management of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection maintains the records for gas well permits and drilled wells.  This information is available on their website by clicking here
